For cleaning after bituminous and anthracite coal we recommend to use Stromme Aquaclan HD, dilution ratio with fresh water 1:3.
Depending of the amount of residues to be removed, condition of cargo hold before loading and weather condition, we recommend to make small test areas to find the best chemical solution before cleaning.
First make a test on a small area with 1:4, 1:3 ,1:2 and 1:1 at different squares on to see what dilution ratio will have the most economical and efficient cleaning effect.
To have the most efficient cleaning effect, ensure to have adequate equipment for chemical application onboard. The Stromme Pump Spray Foam System for applying Stromme Aquaclean HD will give the most accurate and smooth layer. The strong pump and the lance supplying air and chemicals will easily reach up to the upper parts and ensure the best foaming effect.
For smaller vessels up do Handy Max size the Stromme Midi Spray System can also be used.
For efficient removing the foam and flushing down we recommend the Stromme Combi Jet or Stromme Maxi Jet.
If there still is some parts with stubborn stains, a Stromme Mari-Clean high pressure cleaner will do the job.
Applying Stromme Holdcoat FC in the cargo holds before loading coal will require less cleaning chemicals and make the cleaning easier.
